Questions about re-heating your food for baby to eat

8 month old DD is now at the stage where she can have whatever we had for dinner the night before. However, I never normally save and reheat food so am not sure of the rules. I set a portion aside for her but it is still quite warm by the time we go to bed so is it best to put it in the fridge a bit warm or to leave it on the side overnight and put it in the fridge in the morning?

Also do you think about 5 minutes in the microwave is about right (normally stuff like cottage pie, bolognaise etc)?

Also is there anything that you should not reheat? I remember reading something about reheating rice but we have a lot of rissottos do you think its ok to reheat that?

One last thing, is it ok to add stock cubes to food that DD will eat?

I would put it in the fridge overnight whether it is still warm or not. Reheat to piping hot - the time to cook will depend on the size of the portion - and then leave it to cool down before serving. Rice is fine to reheat as long as it is cooled and refridgerated/frozen quickly. The issue is with rice left too long at room temperature. I would wait till closer to 1 year before using stock cubes as they are very salty. An alternative is the Kallo organic low salt vegetable stock cubes as they dont have added salt.
