no you dont need to sterilise anything, just wash properly as you do with your own cutlery & crockery

gringottsgoblin · 10/09/2007 14:33

no it isnt. have just started weaning ds and hadnt even thought about sterilising stuff! just think how much stuff he is putting in his mouth that isnt sterlised - toys, hands that have been on floor, grass (or maybe thats just my ds) etc...

KristinaM · 10/09/2007 14:33

actually you dont even need to use a hand whisk or ice cube trays either unless you really want to but thats a whole other topic.....

No. And I have necer used ice cube trays (apart from for gin)

gringottsgoblin · 10/09/2007 14:49

oooh, iced gin

Jojay · 10/09/2007 14:50

I think the advice is that you still sterilize bottles up to one year, if you use them.

yelnats · 10/09/2007 22:09

I have never sterilised any weaning stuff. I just wash them in the sink with the rest of the dishes - just make sure you dry them with a spotlessly clean tea towel or air dry them.

KristinaM · 10/09/2007 22:46

gringottsgoblin - i suspected as much when you mentioned about the grass

ruddynorah · 10/09/2007 23:38

you don't need to sterilise any of that stuff because you don't need to use any of that stuff! but don't tell annabel !
