Incredibly windy baby!

Baby is 7 months and having 3 small meals a day as well as bf on demand (although quite small amounts now) and 3 bottles of formula in the evening/night.

She's always been pretty windy but since I started solids it's next level! She does these massive farts literally all the time! It's pretty funny but worried there might be something wrong with her or it's something i'm feeding her? It doesn't seem to bother her except occasionally at night, she is very smiley and content most of the time.

In terms of solids I am doing a mix of purées and finger foods. E.g. yesterday she had ellas kitchen mango pouch for breakfast, some pasta with homemade tomato sauce is finger food for lunch and a blended beef stew for dinner (just beef, onions & carrots with low salt stock). It's pretty hit and miss, some days she will eat more than others.

Thanks!

For most babies, it’s a normal phase that she will grow out of soon. But there are a few things you can try that may help.
Keep her upright during feeds. This helps the milk to settle to the bottom of her stomach, while the air rises to the top, so it's easier for her to burp it up.
When you bottle feed, make sure the milk fills the whole teat as you feed her. If the teat goes flat, gently take her off for a moment before trying again. You could also ask your midwife or health visitor about trying a different kind of bottle or teat. Faster-flow teats might help, or you could try a bottle that's specially designed to minimise the amount of air she swallows (anti-colic bottle).
When you prepare the formula, don't shake the bottle vigorously to dissolve the formula. This creates lots of little air bubbles. Try rolling the bottle between your hands instead. It may take a little longer, but it will be better for her. Always check that the formula has fully dissolved before giving it to your baby.
You could also ask your GP or health visitor about switching to a different type of formula.
There are some over the counter remedies such as Infacol which contain simeticone. It’s given directly into the mouth via a plastic dropper. Other mums swear by that old favourite of gripe water for wind in babies - it’s a completely herbal remedy.

Thank you -I do keep her upright during feeding but will definitely try the tip to roll bottle between hands to dissolve rather than shaking.

We used infacol when she was younger and getting trapped wind and that seemed to help. Haven't used it in a while - as I say it's not getting trapped anymore usually, it's certainly coming out!
