Stuck in weaning rut (7 months old)

Hi all
I'm after some ideas/advice. I started weaning my son at 6m and he seems to have taken to it well. We started with purees which I have gradually increased thickness and texture, alongside offering finger food. He is interested in all food and will give anything a go but I feel like I'm stuck in a rut, especially with finger food. I get a bit nervous with foods that I think could get stuck... Is it ok to give him things like peas? Raspberries? Strips of ham? Tinned tuna? Or could he easily choke on these. Any quick and easy finger food ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Also... He currently has two 'meals' a day. Usually something spoon fed (lumpy texture) at around 10-11am with finger food and then again at around 4pm. With milk feeds in-between. Is this enough at this stage?

I feel like I'm going a little insane with this weaning milarkey.

Thanks in advance.

I think the saying is food before one is just for fun, so don't worry about it too much for now. Babies are (unless medically advised otherwise), usually on milk till 1 as their main source of nutrition, but each baby is different. For meat, I was advised to chop it small or use mince and mix with mashed potato, if that's helpful

You can give them basically anything except honey and whole nuts. Round foods such as sausage and grapes should be cut up. Otherwise go ahead and try things like raspberries and tuna.
I would recommend getting a book to give you ideas for suitable recipes and finger foods at different ages. I liked the Ella's Kitchen Purple Book

I do baby led weaning so my lb only eats "normal food" he is 8 months now and eats almost anything i put in front of him. I make pin wheels with lots of different fillings, sandwiches cut into soldiers, i squish blueberries, 1/6 grapes/strawberries, he has frusilli pasta and homemade veg sauce, prawns cut length ways, loves peas and cherry tomatoes (also cut 1/6) has toast in the morning with all kinds of toppings on - butter/cream cheese/peanut butter

If you are worried about choking i would recommend gill rapley baby led weaning book to gain some insight into the difference between choking and gagging. I had major anxiety at first but its amazing how quick they learn to chew and swallow. You just have to trust them

I was giving mine tinned tuna from 6m (the type in oil, not brine).
Cooked prawns
Grated cheese and then cubes of cheese
Avocado
Butter beans
Hard boiled egg
Pasta bows and penne

I didn't make anything specifically for DS as anything I carefully cooked from a recipe he refused to eat anyway!

Just a bit of what we were having, we added salt after etc
