Is Oatso Simple ok to use for babies?
It has lecithin in it but I don't really know what that is or whether it would be suitble.

I don't seem to have any proper porridge oats - think have made too many flapjacks recently

it's not a silly question at all. i can't remember sorry but i used to use those ready made porridges from boots. hint: if your dc likes a prticular flavour, make sure it is one that is readily available other weise you will drive yourself nuts tryign to find that particular one in the supermarket like i did!

thanks for the reasurance!

I only have "original" flavour anyway and wa planning to do some fruit to go in it

asking things like that just means that you are concerned about what you are feeding your child just don't stress yourself about it like i did

i think a better ideal is to get a balanced diet over the week and not necessarily just the day - if they have a bad day one day, try better the next kind of thing.

how old is your dc?

Tommy · 21/08/2007 23:12

he's just over 6m - I am doing BLW so am planning to bake the porridge so he can eat it with his fingers

Other options that my DS liked at that age were Heinz Oaty Porridge (for babies), and Tesco Instant Hot Oat Cereal (no added salt, cheap compared to official baby food).

might sound daft but make sure that it is cool enouigh for him to pick up , almost codl to you might be lovely to them.

i remember someone telling me to touch the food to just inside of your top lip as that is more sensitive there. has saved dd from burning her mouth more times than i can remember !

No, I have noticed snowwonder but it's not me. Tend not to namechange much.

I think the Tesco one must be pretty similar to the stuff I have already so I'm, sure it's OK

Probably I will bake it one day and give it to him over the next couple of days so def won't be too hot.

I am trying to avoid buying baby food this time round - and Ready Brek which I gave to DS1 and then discovered with DS2 that it is mostly flour which is possibly why it came out like glue!
