no you don't

If he is on food now you can give him tap water. While they are exclusively breastfeeding then they don't need water but he might like some now.

As long as he isn't constipated & bf on demand then no you don't need to offer water. I think my DS started having a cup with meals at around 9 months.

you dont need to give water but it might be a good idea to introduce a little in a cup to get him used to the cup (rather than the water!)

I offered a sippy cup of normal tap water from 6 months but continued to bf on demand. To start with DS didn't take much from the cup, more interested in shaking it around and watching the water fly everywhere. At about 9/10 months he seemed to start drinking and eating more, and to start dropping milk feeds of his own accord.

I've found a doidy cup better than the standard cups/beakers for BF babies. But my DD now 9 months has some days she will drink water and others refuses it point blank. There is also alot of water in food too.
