Hello,
My baby is 7 and half months old. Is it OK to give him bread and toast at this age?
Many thanks.

Yes it's fine, if he can manage it.

Past 6 months, they can have practically anything, except runny egg yolks, honey, and high salt food.

i've been giving my dd2 6.5 mo bread and toast for a little while now, no problems and keeps her happy while i'm trying to get food ready. she loves it, go for it

Great thanks everyone. I was a little about choking.
I shall certainly try it tonight.
How old do they have to be to try marmite?

Marmite is fine in small doses, but it's quite salty, so don't give it too regularly

But beware if you give wholemeal - cleaning breadcrumbs from a pooey bum is no fun (I think white bread is recommended anyway because it doesn't fill babies' tums up with bulky fibre so much - in my defence, we'd run out of half white stuff )

better to give it toasted at that age, or big fresh crusts of bread, that will lessen the risk of choking substantially.

If you're giving Marmite, a good tip is to mash up a little bit of Marmite with unsalted butter - that way it's easier to control how much goes on the bread and make it evenly spread. My daughter mostly liked to suck the butter off bread at this age but soon learnt to bite and chew.
