DD is 8.5 months and doing really well with finger food but I find that she is having a lot of the same or very similar things. Theres a lot of toast or sandwich quarters with peanut butter/cheese spread/hummus, cucumber/banana fingers or strawberry halves, or I'll sometimes make omelettes or pancakes (with banana and squashed blueberries if I'm feeling really adventurous). Finger food is normally used as a snack or starter for her. I'm about to go back to work and want a nice varied array of things i can pack her off to gps with. All ideas appreciated!

My little boy likes homade falafel. www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2589/spicy-falafels

I also make him a soft boiled egg with cooked vegetables sticks to dip in.

He also likes frittata which is good for packed lunches.

This is brilliant. My son also liked Yorkshire puddings cut up into bits!

I found the more effort I put in , the less likely DS was to eat finger food!
Things that don't involve much real prep:

Cubes of cheddar or a Babybel +/- some tinned pineapple chunks
Sticks/cubes of pear
Most types of tinned fruit (I get the ones in juice, then drain and rinse a bit)
Peeled boiled potatoes (mine will quite happily eat these cold)
Breadsticks

Steamed (and then chilled) broccoli florets, carrot sticks, zucchini, cauliflower
Roasted sweet potato fingers

Cheesy veg frittata
(Good for batch cooking too)
I use frozen veg, boil them up then mash them down a little. Whisk 2/3 eggs, milk, cheese and some herbs, pour over the veg. Stick in the oven for around 15/20 minutes on 180. You can then cut them into finger slices, my daughter loves those and still does at 19 months. Also stew some apples/pears and take the skin off as something sweet.

Are you a vegetarian? If not, chicken and salmon went down well with my little one. Also you can buy pre cut sweet potato wedges in Sainsbury's that you just bung in the oven. And boiled egg is a winner although very messy! I'll be doing pasta in various reduced sauces soon.

This site has the best quick, easy and health recipes. The snowballs are a favourite with DS. Also most things on there you can batch cook and freeze which makes things much easier. www.babyledweaningideas.com/2018/12/04/snowballs-dairy-free/

French toast, cooked carrot sticks/brocolli, cauli/green beans/baby corn. Omelette or frittata cut into strips. Avocado, sliced or on toast. Strips of meat. Melon, banana, whole peeled apple.

You can also buy giant pasta, Fusilli is good.
