Best BLW foods for sensitive baby

Hi ladies, I'm starting weaning (take 2) in the next couple of weeks and plan to go down the BLW / finger foods route.

My LO (who is 24 weeks) has a really poor digestive system and has suffered from bad trapped wind since birth.

I tried her on a couple of veg purées (avocado, sweet potato) and C&G porridge but had to abandon the whole thing as she got HORRENDOUS stomach pains. It took a week for the food to completely pass through her system and the pains to subside.

So I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and, if so, whether you discovered which foods are the easiest to digest and cause the least wind?!

TIA x

I came on to suggest low Fodmap foods. Oats are generally low fodmap, but did the porridge have dairy? I’d avoid dairy for the moment.
Lean meats are good. Protein is easily digestible and is not fermentable by gut bacteria - which translates to no unwanted intestinal gas! This includes white fish.
In general, eggs are easily digested and therefore make a nice "safe" choice for someone who has irritable bowel syndrome.
Based on past experience, people who have IBS tend to avoid vegetables because they have found that eating vegetables makes symptoms worse. However, vegetables are very good for the gut and therefore may be good for bad digestion. The way to cut through this paradox is to start off by slowly increasing vegetables that are less likely to contribute to gas and bloating. Carrots, green beans and parsnip would be a good place to start. Generally vegetables are less reactive if they are cooked. Fruit wise, bananas, blueberries, mango and apricots would probably be OK.
Nuts are ok in small doses. Almonds are generally better than peanuts, so plain rice cakes spread with almond butter is worth a try.

My 8 month old has an IBD so we’ve had to be pretty cautious weaning. He has a daily probiotic, which has made a HUGE difference to him. I started him off with an elimination diet, potatoes, fish, mango and plums were all ok for him, and have gradually introduced other things. One thing I’ve noticed is that he might be ok with a meal one week but the next week will really suffer. It’s a minefield!

Just to add, it was biokult infantis probiotics that the gastric paediatrician recommended we get, you can buy them in boots or amazon.
