Switching from formula to cows milk

Need some advice!
I have an 18 month old and have been trying to swap from Aptimal formula to cows milk. It's not going well. She would normally have 4-8 oz in the afternoon and the same before bed. She's now barley having an ounce at each bottle time now we switched to cows milk. We heat the milk to same temperature as formula and is still in a bottle. She has cows milk in her cereal and loves a cup of decaf tea.
Any advice welcome on switching from formula to cows milk Smile

I used to switch an ounce at a time. So initially make up the usual formula but replace one ounce with cows milk. Try that for a day or two. Then 2 ounces cows milk etc until it’s all cows milk. They don’t notice the change then.

She doesn’t need bottle at all at that age. Drop the bottles. She needs 350 mg of calcium. That can come from yoghurt, cheese, forfeited cereals and breads or milk.

I think she may be telling you she doesn’t need bottles of milk anymore. Sounds like she has plenty in cereal etc.

If you like the bedtime milk try a sippy cup

I agree, she doesn't need a bottle at that age. As long as she's getting plenty of calcium rich foods - yogurts, cheese, leafy green veg, she doesn't need loads of milk.
You could try giving it as a drink with a meal in a "big girl" cup, maybe with a straw and you could also try it ice cold rather than warm as lots of kids prefer it that way.

Thank you so much everyone! Smile she has a sippy cup for her juice and cup of tea so will give it a go. Also never thought of mixing the formula and cows milk, great idea!
