Best reusable baby pouches

Just that really, baby is five months so won't be weaning for another month but starting to get prepared. I prefer to make food myself in general and will do a mixture of babyled and spoon fed for DS to start to see which he takes to. I do realise the pouches are great for out and about but would rather make and freeze at home. I know a lot of the shop bought pouches have high fruit content (older DN was weaned on them and now at three has a very sweet tooth). There seem quite a lot of reusable pouches available online, which ones wash/fill easily, freeze and don't leak? Thanks!

I have to say, I am highly skeptical that any reusable pouches can really really really be cleaned properly--they are exactly the kind of thing where traces of food are going to get caught in the cracks and crevices.

I have used breastmilk storage bags for purees which we could take with us, and we just chucked them out afterwards--a bit wasteful but we did not use very many. Regardless of what is put into pouches I think it's wise to be careful about getting into habits like continually handing out pouches on the run, as it is not really much different to letting a child suck on a bottle throughout the day.

If you are homemaking anyway are wee pots an option? Easier to clean and you wouldn't need to take a bowl to put the pouch contents into for feeding purposes? (Like Kokeshi I'm sceptical about how clean you could get them.) Screw on lids seem pretty leakproof.

I wasn't planning on feeding directly from them, maybe when he's a toddler for smoothies on the run, I would take a bowl, I've got some little pots but none of the lids are threaded and I was worried about opening the nappy bag to orange mush everywhere, also thought pouches would take up less room in the freezer, but would feel bad about using disposable ones, althogh I do have loads of breast milk pouches that I've already bought but don't l use as often as I thought I would so that's an idea. Hmm maybe I've just bought into hype created by false Amazon reviews.

Don't bother with the pouches- just freeze the puree in ice cube trays, then once frozen pop them out and put into either a freezer bag or container.

When you want some food, take a portion out (one when first weaning and increase as needed) and defrost in the same pot/bowl that you will feed baby from 🙂

I bought some and never used them. They were hard to clean and didn’t have the same ‘give’ as, say, the Ella’s Kitchen pouches - just a small squeeze was enough for everything to come shooting out! They didn’t hold much either. Sorry but I didn’t think they were much use

It absolutely completely different - it's a different skill entirely. It is nothing like a bottle, at all. This is terrible advice. I hope OP found some good pouches to reuse because they're really helpful and kids will continue to eat from them all the way into their tweens for lunches ect
