DS is 11 months today and currently having 2 meals a day and 3 bottles (morning, afternoon and before bed). Should I be dropping the afternoon bottles any time soon?

You should stop all bottles and get a cup for him. He should get breakfast lunch and evening meal

He does have breakfast lunch and an evening meal. He drinks his water from a cup throughout the day but has milk from a bottle (which I don't see a problem with). The question was how much milk do other people's babies have at 11 months.

Just realised my first message read 2 meals a day but it was supposed to say 3 meals per day.

I don't understand the obsession w getting them off bottles. Mine like yours had 3 meals, drinks etc, wouldn't use a comforter, didn't suck his thumb, came off breastfeeding himself but for some reason liked his bottle. Nothing wrong with it especially at 11 months. I just reduced powder amount to a spoon (or minimum) so you're not fattening up your DH.

At 11 months my son had 3 bottles a day and 3 meals. First thing waking up, then nap time at lunch and one before bed. I dropped the first thing bottle at 12 months, then he had milk for his nap and bedtime until 18 months, which he is now. I've just removed all bottles, he now has milk in a cup at nap time and bedtime. But only 4 ounces each time. So he went from 24oz, to 16oz and now only has 8oz a day, usually less because he never finishes his milk before his nap.
Was no issue getting him off the bottle, I just threw them all in the bin so he had no choice.

Completely agree! Let babies be babies for Christ sake. If a bottle is what they enjoy then so be it!

Babies under 6 months have to be bottle fed or breast fed. Then a cup can be introduced. A bottle is no longer necessary. A 3 year old or 4 year old may also enjoy a bottle. Each to their own. It’s not an obsession. It’s the development process. Some people stop bottles at 6 months. Some continue until their kids are school age. As I say each to their own.
