I have it if you want me to send it? It's not an exclusive piece re BLW but it does mention it. It's more concerned with the amount we spend on pureed food & the brands etc etc....interesting

brilliant! i saw the ST one too. usual ST patronising rot but at least we're going mainstream.

BLW ROCKS... .......I just can't ever imagine doing it the AK way ever ever again...well, we're not having anymore so I guess it's not relevant to me but I'm trying to brainwash all my friends who have lo's coming up for weaning!!!

I have vaguely heard of BLW but not sure exactly what it entails - can you recommend any good books or websites? Is it easier/less hassle than 'normal' weaning? Is it too late to switch my ds who has been having pureed pap off a spoon for the last 3 months?

TIA

Quiddaitch · 12/07/2007 11:30

well, i do a website thing at www.babyledweaning.com there aren't any books but i've put the relevant weblinks on my site. the only thing with starting later is that they may already have dropped some milk so you have to remember to demand feed milk while they're learning how to feed themselves.
as to whether it's easier, i can't say as it's the only thing i've done. but most mums of two say that they prefer BLW to pureeing first time round.

Thanks Aitch - I'm going to have to do some housework now but will have a good look tonight

DS is only 8 months & still having as much of mummy's milk as he wants so will definitely give it a try & hope for the best.
