Hello! Right, i have 9 month old twin boys, one of which is outright refusing to eat-anything. You name it I've tried it, always baby led weaned with my older 3 so initially started that with the twins too but introduced spoons and pureès in an attempt to get food in him. Anything and i mean anything that passes his lips that isnt milk makes him violently gag and he will end up vomiting, even the taste of butter on a piece of toast made him vomit this morning! We have already been to see GP who has ruled out sensory issue, it really is just taste and texture he hates. Hv has referred us to SALT for the next step, but i cant see how they're going to get him to like food. His weight gain is slowing down, only putting in 1 ounce in 5 weeks, im extremely worried that we are heading towards feeding tubes etc. Has anyone else gone through this at all? Did anyone go through SALT and if so what did they do? Any information anyone has to help shine a light on what to expect would be highly appreciated ❤

Has he ever been checked for tongue tie OP?

He does have a tongue tie, as do i and 2 of his brothers who have all been amazing eaters, he feeds extremely well from bottles and the dr agreed that his vomiting is caused by his reaction too taste, as he gags with the taste and then ends up vomiting because hes gagged so much! Xx

SALT will assess chewing, swallowing so definitely helpful. They may also help understand potential sensory issues too.. issues with texture would be a sensory issue so can't see how it got ruled put so quickly.
