Just don't offer sweet stuff. He's still very new to eating solids, carry on with offering a variety of foods and he'll get the hang of it.
A lot of the 'savoury' jars taste quite sweet as they have lots of the sweeter veg such as carrot and sometimes fruit in them, I usually just give babies normal food (no salt, honey, whole nuts) as finger foods or lightly mashed.

When I started weaning I only gave my baby purée veggies , at 10 months he still dosnt have a lot of puddings bar the occasional yoghurt .
Just don't give the baby puddings , at 6 months milk is more important anyway and food really is just for the experience .
If you stop giving pudding, baby won't be eating it and will eventually discover other foods 😊
I really would recommend avoiding the sweet stuff until you have tried savoury / veggies

6 months seem a bit early for pudding, I wouldn’t offer them at all and just offer proper food.

I have been giving him porridge and stuff since just after he was 4 months and since i know he likes puddings and will only eat them i have not been giving them to him and introducing finger food and eggs and veg but find he gags, i will try some veggie purees thank you

They love sweet things, I would avoid and stick with all savoury.

He will gag initially when eating finger foods, while his gag reflex gets used to knowing how to work properly.

Don't worry about gagging - if he's going red and making a noise, he's not choking. Gagging is a normal part of learning to eat and swallow safely, the heightened gag reflex sort of protects them from choking.
If they are blue and unable to make any noise at all then that is choking.
The st.johns ambulance website has some great videos showing what to do if a baby chokes, it's worth doing an emergency children's first course too.

Gagging is normal, I think it's worse for you then it is for them. I'd just stop offering pudding although and offer a variety of healthy food. If you do want to give a pudding you could give plain yogurt or fruit.

Hi- my baby wouldn't eat savoury either. I decided I wanted him to practise eating so we went with it- apple, yoghurt, mango, banana etc. We gradually introduced savoury and give him sweet for pudding and now at one he eats loads of savoury. I know the advice is to stick with savoury, but it felt unproductive for us as I was faced with the mooth clamp day after day.
