finger food ideas for 10 month old?

Not sure if this is the right thread or not!
When weaning my son, I started with spoonfeeding him pureed veg etc but soon after I started to give him things to feed himself with like some Ellas kitchen snacks.
These past few weeks he absolutely refuses to be spoonfed and whilst I am pleased with this independence, I am struggling more and more for finger food ideas and making sure he gets enough! ! And always making sure its something that he can easily chew and not choke on. I have gave him the spoon himself a few times and on occassion he has mastered the skill with getting it into his mouth, but more times than not, food falls off the spoon! I'll keep letting him practice though.
He does suck out of yoghurt or food pouches if I have them, but mainly likes to just eat real food with his hands. He does have 8 teeth already and is getting better at chewing properly before swallowing but I still watch him like a hawk as petrified of choking!

So far we've tried and he likes -

toast fingers
pancakes
peas and carrotts, brussel sprouts cut up
small bits of sausage meat (no skin)
tiny bits of chicken or turkey usually covered in some gravy so its not dry
scrambled egg
tiny bitesize bits of ham and cheese spread sandwiches
different kinds of fruit (which he doesnt always love)
chips
baby potatoes
bits of stuffing
small bits/flakes of white fish
for a breakfast bits of shredded wheat soaked in milk so its moist for him.

He isnt a fan of anything tomato tasting and we havent tried pasta yet.

Just feel like im always giving him the same thing and would love some ideas! Thanks

I’d recommend having a look on mumsknowbest.com its a website from a lady called Natasha Corret ( Kelly Hoppens Daughter) If you’re on Instagram I’d say to give her a follow as she puts lots in her stories.

Lot of her recipes are very simple and quick to cook.

DS loved feeding himself porridge with his hands at that age. I made it quite thick so he could grab handfuls. Messy, but that’s the fun of it! He was legendary for shovelling away double adult portions of the stuff.

And you don’t have to put to tomato sauce on pasta! Plain cooked pasta is good. Or mixed with cream cheese or a cheesey sauce.

Basically at that age I gave him what we were eating unless it was very spicy. He could manage most things with his hands, even things like stew. With soups I’d tear up bits of bread.

Sweet potato wedges, butternut squash, florets of broccoli and cauliflower, avocado.
Cubes of cheese
Rice cakes
Yorkshire puddings

At ten months he should have a decent pincer grip and you can give him same food as you- chicken roast dinner with all the trimmings, stew with big lumps of meat and veggies , pasta etc.

I make mashed potato and mix it up with other stuff like tuna or salmon, peas, sweetcorn etc then roll it into little balls for him to stuff in his gob.
Loads of non tomato pasta options - try pesto, cheese sauce, mix up with creme fraiche
Shepherd pie balls too!
Roast dinner always goes down well too.
(Mine is 15 months but slow on the teeth front)

Homemade patties- can make bean ones, mashed potato, bubble and squeak, fish and mash, etc.
Turkey or beef mince or sausage balls
Homemade sushi wraps
Mini wraps

Pre prepared there's falafel, fish, chicken and veggie fingers, battered cheese sticks

Veggies baby corn, mange tout, carrot Batons etc.
My DS fave is plain pasta pieces and grated cheese, with some pieces of cooked carrot and broccoli. Simple, easy and cheap too.

Avocados great, or pitta bread strips with hummus. Cold chicken or ham. Mini sandwiches. Hard boiled eggs.
