Tap2 i usually give a few peices at a time as if i give more, ds thinks he should mash it all on the table or feed the dog with it If i give him a plate he uses that to serenade us while we eat with a soothing banging song!!

dd used to get a bit phased by too much food and woudl, most frustratingly, clear her highchair tray by sweeping everything to the ground. thereafter i only gave her a couple of bits. she's eighteen monhts now, happily uses a fork and spoon (and fingers) and a plate so i don't think it did any harm.

cathcart · 02/07/2007 20:44

so i can give exclusively bf dd all of these things in 4 weeks time? straight off?

So she'll hopefully stuff it in her mouth, realise its yummy and just start eating? I've just realised that I'm really nervous about this! I'm going to be such a pita in a few weeks time - watch out aitch!

re - the pesto, I always make my own and never put salt in anyway, so I'm guessing this will be ok?

My hv said smooth peanut butter is ok?

lispy · 08/07/2007 07:54

I think it's the parmeson cheese that has the salt but i wouldn't worry if you're just using a tiny bit.

scrambled egg - sorry if this has been said already
Cook in the mircorave with a drop of milk, it stays in a shaoe. I cook it for 30 seconds on 1000w oven, stir it, then another 30 seconds. It comes out light and fluffy. I then cut it into large chunks, as she has grown older I have made it more 'scrambled' that to start with, as she can now pick up small pieces.

KittenKat · 08/07/2007 08:08

tap - I just chuck it all on to DDs tray, and she helps herself, start off with a small amount - as aitch said, and now put the lot on! I am starting to give her a plate/bowl now, to get her used to it but only recently, she is just 12 months. and it still all rnds up on the highchair tray!

KittenKat · 08/07/2007 08:10

skinless, boneless haddock, in microwave with a little milk, then flaked. If you want, with cheese sauce, with well cooked pasta.

The gorgeous 'Tesco Whole foods' prunes that are really juicy. I turn them inside out so DS can get the yummy bit easier. Think I got that tip off Aitchs blog? or the yahoo group? Don't think I've got any more that haven't been mentioned. Although I do give crumpets too (hope they're OK )
