Hello! Silly question perhaps but how do you know how much to give your LO? Do you just keep going until they lose interest and start playing with the food?

At what stage is it possible for a LO to over-eat?

TIA!

Good question, will watch with interest! So far I've just done it until she starts to spit it all back out or just refuses to open her mouth, but then 2 hours or so after she seems hungry again, whereas if she takes a bottle she can easily last 3 hours.

I just let them eat to their appetite, which is part of the idea of BLW. Sometimes they eat lots sometimes not very much, either is fine.

As long as food is healthy, you just offer them as much as they want until they get bored. Even my 5 year old, I don’t ever limit what she eats at meal times, only treats (like say a biscuit between meals) or if she’s having pudding (obviously doesn’t get seconds).

I mostly guess.

This is my general approach to parenting

I watched a programme on this the other day children can self regulate feeling full until they are two after which they will start to eat as much as they are given. A portion size is as much as the size of their fist.
