Cows milk and yogurts

I am so confused. Third baby who will be ready to wean on the next two months, but it's been so long since I weaned the other two. I have forgotten.
I breastfeed and LA Leche league say not to give cows milk before 12 months which I remember from my older two, however how does that apply to yoghurt and cheese? And other products containing cows milk protein? Should they all be avoided until after 12 months.

I'm not planning to start with cheese or yogurts we will blw and probably start with some steamed carrot sticks or similar. But I am sure I introduced cheese and yoghurt before 12months with my older two.

Can anyone help?

As far as I am aware (I don't think any advice has changed recently) it's fine to give cows milk from six months when you use it in cooking and in yoghurt, cheese, fromage frais etc. You shouldn't give it as their main milk drink until 12 months, they should still be having breastmilk or formula as cows milk doesn't have all the nutrients they need.

Cows milk has always been fine from six months, just not in place of milk feeds (formula or breast milk). I’ve done blw with both of mine and they’ve had milk in food, cheese and yogurt from 6 months.

Cows milk is fine in food, just not as a replacement for BFs Smile

Cows milk is ok in foods, cereal and cooking from 6 months as is cheese/ yoghurt. The main drink should remain formula/breastmilk
