How to check for bones in fish?

Feels like a silly questions but to be honest I really don’t cook or eat a lot of fish. I gave DS salmon last week and checked it for bones by going through it with my fingers? Is that necessary each time I give him fish or should I be doing something different? Planning on cooking fish again tonight. He’s 7 months.

I try and buy boneless fish, sometimes though you do get a tiny weeny one, I try and pull them out with a pair of tweezers, the alternative is puree it each time.

Thank you - yes I bought boneless fish but it was the tiny bones I was worried about. Would they be obvious by looking so I can pick them about? Sorry feel very clueless!

No I don't think you can always see them, I usually find them when I have cooked it and am eating, would you be happy mashing it up.
