bought some of these the other day, and it says on the packet 'no suitable for under 1's'

Any ideas why? they are fairly similar to their other crisp type things but contain milk and gluten and th teeniest amount of salt - would this be why?

'not suitable'even

I think it's the salt. I'm pretty sure DS2 had them when under 1.

But they're not that salty, I don't think they're a problem if eaten in moderation.

thanks nqc - the salt levels are really low anyways, and he'd only eat a couple to take his mind of our food/tantrum/ etc etc

Yeah, I wouldn't stress in that case.

Rice cakes are a good alternative without salt, if he likes them. I remember DS2 was mad for the Organix things, rice cakes, raisins, and a bunch of other things of that ilk.

only just starting to get into these things so rice cakes are next on the agenda (forget them every time!)

was sure someone would come on and tell me to give carrot/vegie sticks instead of 'crisps'

If you get the other Organix things which are ok from 7 months (Organic Crunchy Sticks and Organic Crunchy Rings, which are Carrot and Sweetcorn respectively...), they are much nicer (less kind of sharp when crunching them!), and are ok for littlies. My DS loves them but I have to hide them or he wants them all the time. They only have either carrot or sweetcorn powder, sunflower oil, organic corn and thiamin, so no "nasties".

we have the ring ones already - more the unusual texture that he likes the best i think!

Have to say cucumber sticks were very popular (still are) with DS from an early age. I used to peel it and cut into long fingers when he was 6 months, and he would eat a lot of it. Now I just wash it and leave the peel on (he is 15 months now).
