Hi everyone. I'm hoping to get some advice on weaning .

My baby takes to the weaning process well but over the past few days she's seemed to have a sore tummy . I'm not sure if it's just her stomach adjusting to food or if she's been fed too much? She's six and a half months , and a very good eater. I'm also still trying to manage a schedule and I'm still not sure if I should give her food straight after a bottle or wait a while, for example when she has breakfast she has a bottle and then breakfast and it's the same with all meals. Can anyone give me some handy tips or let me know what their feeding routine is for a baby of similar age?

Thank you !

Have you introduced lots of new foods at once? Maybe stick to something new every other day just to make sure her stomach is ok with it.

I think the advice is to offer food first and then milk afterwards so that they're not full when you offer a meal.

Oh and one thing my DD wasn't great with at first was wheat, if she had weetabix for breakfast and then bread later in the day it was too much and upset her stomach a bit. We limited the wheat per day for a few weeks and gradually her body adjusted to processing it and she's now fine with it (9 months).

I’d cut back and just offer solids once a day for a few days and see if things improve.

Giving food just once a day or twice a day is fine at this age. The NHS recommend that you gradually build up to 3 meals between 8 and 9 months. It usually works out better if you give food roughly an hour after a bottle too, at least for the first couple of months Smile
