My little one is 28 weeks has three meals a day 3-5 oz bottles in between. 8 oz at bed time and two 7 oz night feeds. The HV has told me to only give him two bottles of milk a day and to stop night feeds? Is this correct? He gains weight rapidly then settles down for a few weeks and has done this since birth! Theres never been a pattern as such! He goes to bed at 6.30 every night and the times he wakes up alternates but he always drinks all milk at night. I put him down still awake! He screams until we feed him. I'm assuming he's hungry but the HV says he's doing it for comfort? I'm unsure? Any advice would be great! Thanks.

No, your hv is talking shite. Your lo will cut down on milk as their solids increase. If you wanted to tackle night feeds then reducing them gradually by an ounce at a time could help your lo transfer the amount to the daytime instead

Haha 😂 thanks! That's what I thought! He's not one for doing as he's told this baby so I'm going with the flow! Some days he eats loads and doesn't sleep some times he doesn't seem to eat much and sleep all night! They don't live in the real world these health professionals! Thanks both. He's a lovely happy baby except when he's hungry 😆I will try the weaning down at night but don't expect it to work 😂 I'll just keep doing what I'm doing!! X
