Weaning a 2 y/o

I planned on nursing until my daughter was 2, and now her birthday has come and gone... She is so attached (no pun intended) to nursing, and it's a complete comfort blanket for her. She's never taken to using a dummy - I'm the only dummy that'll do! She still nurses before bed each night, but we've now reached a point where she can go to sleep in her bed, not just on me. But she has to be ready, and will literally beg for milk until she's ready to lay down on her own.

This is where it gets tricky... She wakes up crying every night (she's only slept through the night twice since she was born!!) and ends up in bed with us, where she nurses all night long. Some nights, she's attached to my boob from the second she lays down with us until my alarm goes. Wearing a shirt doesn't help, she just pulls it down to get what she wants. I love nursing her, but I feel like she is too old now and it's time to stop.

So...I really need some weaning advise, as everything I've tried has failed. Especially from anyone who's weaned a resistant toddler!

I was in exactly the same situation and have found this technique really good and very gentle drjaygordon.com/attachment/sleeppattern.html
I saw it recommended on here somewhere. We’ve taken a while over it due to illness and teething but now get two good sleep stretches with just a feed at bedtime and one around 4am. Hoping to cut the 4am one soon. There were protests but not nearly as severe or protracted as I was expecting!
