Please recommend me your high chairs! DS is 5 and a half months yes I'm leaving this quite late and I need to buy a highchair asap. Budget under £100 please.

IKEA antilop. The seat and tray will fit in a dishwasher which is great if you have a really explosive meal. You can get an insert to support your baby if needed.

teaandbiscuitsforme · 04/01/2018 08:40

Absolutely Ikea- £15, goes in the dishwasher, actually lets your child sit upright to eat rather than some stupid reclined position.

You really don't need anything more.

Discusting · 04/01/2018 08:43

If you don’t have an Ikea near you then Asda do one very similar for £12

NisekoWhistler · 04/01/2018 08:47

Definitely ikea, I bought a stokke then and antilop, wish I'd got the antilop first

RebeccaBunch · 04/01/2018 09:21

Another vote for the ikea one. Fantastic design.

moggle · 04/01/2018 09:23

WE had the Ikea one but next time I would get the Asda one- it looks virtually identical but has a platform for feet and IIRC five point rather than three point straps. Only thing is that it may only be available during the baby event.

CottonSock · 04/01/2018 09:24

Ikea

moggle · 04/01/2018 09:24

this is the Asda one but yes unfortunately it looks like it isn’t available currently.

overmydeadbody · 04/01/2018 09:25

The IKEA antilop is fantastic.

BarbieBrightSide · 04/01/2018 09:27

IKEA Antilop here, too. Also dead easy to take with you to other places because the legs come off. Don't be fooled by the all singing all dancing types with padded seats that are a nightmare to keep clean and the padding rips after a while anyway.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/01/2018 09:51

Either the IKEA Antilop (cheap and dead easy to clean) or the Stokke Trip Trapp (expensive but can be used for years). I wouldn't bother with anything in between tbh.

BarbieBrightSide · 04/01/2018 10:10

Once the children were bigger I had handysitts off EBay so they could join us at the table and now they are on IKEA Ingolfs because the seat height works well at the kitchen table and they don't need the straps now they are older.

OuchBollocks · 04/01/2018 10:12

I hate the ikea one. Too big, baby slides everywhere even with support. Get a second hand baby bjorn one. Far better and great resale value.

JaneBanks · 04/01/2018 10:30

Brilliant - thanks all! I had seen the ikea one but wasn't sure since no footrest, although for under £15 I guess you can't go too wrong as a trial anyway!

We bought an expensive one with lots of features but got so sick of cleaning it we bough the ikea one. We have made some padding to support her back out of old towels in a plastic bag.

Thehairthebod · 04/01/2018 11:15

Ikea Antilop! Smile

kshaw · 04/01/2018 11:28

Ikea one £14 - had an expensive wooden one that was a pain in the arse before!!

Discusting · 04/01/2018 12:47

I do t like a footrest as DS pushes up from it to try and get out!

Theworldisfullofidiots · 04/01/2018 12:53

I had a tripp trapp for both of mine. Ds 11 still uses his (converted of course) at the kitchen table.
Second hand one off ebay?

user1481406249 · 04/01/2018 12:56

I would also say the ikea one. I bought the insert as well so it was £19 total. Gives a bit of support for your little one and can easily be removed when they are bigger. Also easy to remove and wash. I don't like a footrest as it means they can potentially push themselves up and fall out. Although there are straps as well to keep them secure. Now that my lo is on the move I can put him in it whilst I pop to the loo and he's still there when I get back! Grin

CottonSock · 04/01/2018 16:28

Hauck do a copy of the Tripp Tripp for £45. I got two of these once they progressed from Ikea one. Didn't like them for small babies, but great once toddler size

BaffledMummy · 21/01/2018 21:49

Agree with just about all other PPs! Ikea Antilop and Tripp Trapp if you are feeling flush. Wouldn’t bother with anything else.

FartnissEverbeans · 22/01/2018 15:38

I wouldn't want a footrest as DS would try to escape.

I have an IKEA chair and I love it. I'm always pleased when restaurants have it as it's so easy to clean.

ObiJuanKenobi · 22/01/2018 15:45

We have Ikea antilops and can't recommend enough!!! Very easy to take apart and travel with too.

feesh · 23/01/2018 10:10

IKEA antilop for us too! I also bought a couple of extra inflatable supports - I keep one under the buggy to use when we are out, especially in restaurants that have those wanky wooden high chairs and they also work well in trolley seats
