What shall I cook?

I started weaning my DD a week before she was six months, I am quite against jarred food but I seem to be constantly steaming veg and chicken/turkey for her. What do people use to freeze food in- please not Annabel Karmel food trays- did't get on with them. What else an I give her for a change? BLW sometimes usually toast but I do have mash food as I have had to reduce her milk to 20oz due to constant reflux. Can I blend pasta? Sorry- just confused first timer!

How old is your DD now samsmam? I used ice cube trays in the beginning for purees (I didn't do BLW). Now I use ordinary tupperware-type containers to freeze portions of casserole etc. I don't know about blending pasta - I've never found it necessary. I've tried to find really small soup pasta but it doesn't exist in my supermarket so I settled for macaroni and DS does OK with it.

She is 6.5 months. (29 weeks) I just seem to cook twice a day for her and then fo DP and I. Maybe I'll buy some smaller tupperware containers- thanks.

I was thinking of something different to potato or sweet potato as her carbohydrate?

You could try rice maybe? And it probably is OK to blend pasta come to think of it.

ice cube trays, thats what i used.
Ordinary cheep ones, it was just enough at first, then i gave my ds 2 then 3 as he wanted more.
I did batch cooking once a week.
Yes you can freeze and blend pasta.
i did mainly stewed fruit and steamed veg.
Actually, i always kept back some of whatever me and dh were having and mashed that up, froze half and gave him half. Sooo much easier.

I've blended pasta and it was fine...did a pasta type thing with chicken, tinned tomato, pasta spirals, little bit of cheese and basil...DS liked it - thankfully!!

ice cube trays are good to start off with and then I found those flexible muffin trays really useful as you could put them in the oven and the freezer and a muffin sized portion was just right for an older baby

I used ice cube trays - quite good to have small cubes as then you can mix a few different ones together for variety. Now she's older, I have got some nice little freezer pots from Mothercare that hold a whole meal.
