My 14mo is clearly really hungry but anything I put in front of her she will eat a tiny bit and then refuse the rest. But she's obviously still hungry so she just cries and moans at me and the only way to stop her is to give her milk or breadsticks!
She has always hated being spoon fed so I can only give her finger food or if I want to give her anything sloppy I cover her with a massive bib and give her the bowl and spoon to do it herself and I'm really not sure that much actually goes in!

She likes peas, cooked carrot, cucumber, , sometimes she'll nibble on a babybel but no other cheese, sometimes she'll nibble a bit of bread or a potato. She loves chips. She loves an apple but tends to bite bits of and spit them out. She only has 8 teeth so far, front top and bottom.

I'm really struggling and hate seeing her so hungry and also feel I'm giving her to much milk.

What other finger foods could I try that a Bread stick like?

Can't you give her loaded spoons of whatever you're eating?

Otherwise get the BLW cookbook - loads of ideas for every meal.

It sounds like her preference is for crunchy foods that she feeds herself. Maybe think about it from a texture point of view. Things like cheese on toast, eggy bread, veg cooked lightly rather than mushy, meat balls? Pasta? Have dips so dip the breadstick into hummus/ dairylea.

Load onto a spoon or get one of those suction bowls to prevent some throwing. DS is 11months and very much wants to feed himself so I imagine by 14 Months he’ll be wanting to be as independent as your dd.

There's actually an alternative you might not have considered as it is a local "dish" in the country I come from. Välling, or known as mild oat baby cereal drink. Here: www.amazon.co.uk/Semper-Havre-Valling-Cereal-Drink/dp/B00KO2Q5PI?tag=mumsnetforum-21
I had it as a baby, "everyone" did, yummy-yummy!

Could it be that she’s just holding out for something she prefers? If she prefers finger foods, what kind of things do you offer in a typical day?

Is she breast fed or by milk do you mean cow's milk? My DS
