In just wondering on average how much your one year old would eat and lunch and tea? How much of a kids bowl would they eat?

DS eats 1 1/2 weetabix or large bowl of porridge and a small banana for breakfast.

Slice of toast or a sandwich made from one piece of bread with Philadelphia/marmite/cheese, small yoghurt handful of baby crisps and some fruit or cucumber sticks.

Dinner is usually what we have or I make him his own kid versions and he eats between 190-230g then has homemade rice pudding/custard etc

He will also have a few baby biscuits or fruit as snacks throughout the day. 2 bottles of milk totalling 17oz
This is a rough guide

My BF baby doesn't eat anywhere near that amount but he's a good eater.

Breakfast - half a weetabix/couple of dessert spoons of sugar free Cheerios or something. Maybe a piece of banana or two.

Lunch - half a slice of bread/few spoons of soup, a couple of teaspoons of Greek yog, maybe a few grapes/apple slices/carrot sticks etc

Dinner - small portion of our meal (half an Ikea plate?), few spoons of Greek yog, maybe some fruit

Snacks - not much but he BF. Maybe a couple of mini breadsticks/rice cakes, bites of fruit.

Are you worried about yours?

Thank you for replying. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a lo with a little appetite. I have the ikea bowls and plates and I actually think they are rather big.do you have the ikea bowl? If my lo was to eat say cauliflower cheese she would eat just under half a bowl as I give that when she is off her food because she will eat that.I also have a small kids sized bowl and will eat a tiny bit of meat and a dollop of mash and cauliflower cheese.

Over eating is a learned behaviour, at 1 a baby is unlikely to have already learned to over eat or restrict their diet. They should just be eating what is right for them, and babies will vary. As with bottles of milk, they should always leave a little on their plate as that means they have had all they need.

We have the bowls as well. How much milk is she having? I don't tend to worry about how much DS eats because some days he's seems to eat more than my 2.5yr old and some days a lot less. Some days he BF more, some days less.

I think so long as you're offering a wide variety of foods and letting them control what they eat and how much they want, they'll be ok. My DD is 91st centile and DS is 98th so they're not small children but neither of them eat huge plates of food. We all eat the same meal, I cook from scratch as much as I can, we always sit down together at the table and they eat as much as they want to. I think that's the best I can do!

If you're not concerned about her weight, I really wouldn't worry and just keep doing what you're doing.
