Cold BLW Good Ideas

Hi! I am looking for some baby lead weaning ideas for my 11 month old.
He is at a childminder now that I have returned to work but she has told me she can't heat food up for him due to health and safety/hygiene reasons.
Before he started, I used to do all my cooking at the weekend for the week ahead and just defrost and heat up when he needed it. But now he is at the childminders, I am running out of finger foods he can have that don't need to be cooked at the time or heated up. Can anyone suggest anything? TIA Smile

Savoury muffins and flapjacks? You can make a batch, freeze and take one out as needed.

At 11 months BLW can eat most things. How about the below for ideas?

French toast fingers
Yoghurt
Fruit
Carrot sticks
Celery
Cucumber
Breadsticks
Cheese portions
Cheese straws

I don't think your childminder will thank you for sending him yoghurt to feed himself!

I send yoghurt into nursery for 14mo DS, but with a spoon.

He also gets homemade muffins, a small tub of dry snacks (e.g. those Ella's Kitchen cookies that don't have sugar in, or goldfish crackers), an avocado or a banana (with a knife so that nurses can chop it), chopped fruit/veg that won't go brown (like watermelon or cucumber), sandwiches. Cheese used to be a good one but he's decided he doesn't like that any more Hmm

You could buy a thermos and send in warm food in that. Or boxes of cereal and milk.

Some great ideas on here already. How about these cheese straws. They will keep for a few days in an airtight container and are freezable too.

These patties would work and if you live anywhere near staffordshire, how about Staffordshire Oatcakes and cheese?

Almost forgot Spanish omelette! 🙂

too.
