Weaning from Breast

Hello,

My daughter is 7 months tomorrow and I am now ready to end my bf journey as I return to work and due to high lipase and many attempts my lo won't take it due its change in taste.

I am looking for advice on how to wean her from me and transition on her onto formula until she's 12 months. She won't take a bottle and have tried every brand and so will now drink from a cup when I'm not around.

She doesn't follow a pattern when she feeds and is fed on demand. we are doing BLW and currently she is beginning to swallow food after learning to chew.

I just don't know how to drop feeds when she feeds when she wants. The other issue I have is at night only my boob will settle her back to sleep and she is now taken to having me resettle her multiple times a night with the boob.

I really would welcome any advice as I'm not sure what to do. My partner doesn't like her crying (neither do I) so he's reluctant to give her milk when he just can pass her back to me to feed. It's a vicious circle.

Thank you in advance

I think you may need to give one of the Bfing Helplines a call. They will help you to come up with a plan to stop Bfing. Have you got the numbers?

As for sleep, have you read the No Cry Sleep Solution?

Hello,

No I've not got the numbers. Basically I have until September to try. She seems to also not entertain formula and so I'm concerned she'll get dehydrated as she's not taking much in the way of solids at the moment.

Thanks

The numbers are here.

Think the sleep might be an issue that you have to tackle separately though Smile
