eggy bread
cheese on toast
pizza
rosties (sp?)
fishcakes
chips

There's the problem. He will only have a coup[ of bites of something if it's not pasta or vegetables. Which will be great when he is 30, lol.

Can you fry pasta, I wonder?

And he won't drink much milk either.

What about the very large pasta shells stuffed with cheese?

usandnosleep · 05/03/2007 09:15

Vegetarian lasagene with lots of cheese?

Bet he hates cheese doesn't he?

colditz · 05/03/2007 09:17

he's not big on cheese, but I bet he would eat it with pasta, which he adores.

Thanks guys. Must up family cheese intake.

avocado (I know it's expensive)
veg dipped in high fat things like hummus, or sour cream
coconut in sauces, on pasta
bananas quite good
smooth peanut butter (if fine about allergies?) either on a cracker or in a sauce
dried fruit not bad for calories

Is he crawling a lot / walking? They do tend to slim out a bit at this stage anyway, as the "sitting around being a fat baby" bit has passed

FrannyandZooey · 05/03/2007 09:19

Actually Asda do a bag of mini avocados for about a quid and if he likes them he could have one for lunch every day. They are such a healthy and nutritious thing for babies, and they usually enjoy the creamy taste.

thehairybabysmum · 05/03/2007 09:22

double cream based sauces for pasta, or cream cheese stirred through.

Could you feed him yoghurts in addition to finger foods?

colditz · 05/03/2007 09:24

yes, he crawls like a freight train. I have laminate flooring and all I hear all day is "Ba! ba!" as sweaty likke paws skuttle across the floor. I will try sour cream on brocolli. But all my attempts with avocado have been slung across the room in disgust. I will keep going with it.

thank you everyone.

he does have yoghurts, he gets 2 a day (!) and I am thinking of adding cream to them.

My DS also distinctly unimpressed by avocado despite various disguises.

colditz · 05/03/2007 10:49

His weight- I don't know. I must take him to get him weighed. I have never ever bothered with it, as he is active, alert, and although doesn't have a big appetite, he does eat. i may have to break my rule though.

Only mildly joking about the frying. I Have just given him a cheese toastie, which he is enjoying, so just lunch to concern me now. It will have to be something in town, as I have a meeting to go to with an income support officer

Chips it is then
