BLW - what constitutes a portion?

Ds will no longer be spoon fed and is really enjoying eating normal food popped onto his tray, but I'm finding it hard to judge if he's getting a balanced diet when I'm so used to measuring in ice cubes (LOL, sounds so ridiculous when I write it down)
so, do you think a matchbox sized piece of roast chicken is a portion of protein for one meal? He had this amount of chicken, same amount of butternut squash, a broccoli floret and one small new potato. I think that probably isn't enough carbs, but bread is the only carb he'll eat a larger amount of at the moment.
God, this all sounds so anal which is why I was a puree feeder to start off with, please bear with me...

I wouldn't stress too much about the balance between food groups at an individual meal, try to look at what he eats over the week instead. As for portion control, if he's still hungry, then give him more. He may choose the chicken over the broccoli, but if he's eaten some of each at the first sitting, I wouldn't worry.

Sorry, should say I'm not doing BLW myself so I could be speaking out of my bottom. But that's what I'd do.

Thanks fluffy. He lurves the chicken and will choose it over everything else, but seems keen on the veg too once all chicken has been dispensed with. Perhaps I should write down what he's eaten, rather than what he's been offered, then I'll have a clearer idea over a week
