dippy eggs

Hi

How old is okay to have soft boiled eggs?

DD is 15 months and loves scrambled eggs, I'm going to try her with omlettes too soon.

I know she's a bit young for the dippy egg and soldiers just yet but I think she'd still like a soft boiled egg.

I guess this goes for fried eggs too - it's just whole runny yolk thing I'm not sure of.

TIA

I think they are supposed to be completely cooked until 1 year old so if DD is 15 months you can probably go for a softer egg now.

I personally would buy organic free range eggs especially for her, and go for it.

As long as the white is completely cooked it should be alright to have runny eggs after a year. You could start with a semi-runny boiled egg, where the yolk is quite thick but not hard boiled yet, that way you'll know it has heated up sufficiently to have killed any harmful bacteria (and it will be easier for her to eat by herself!)

go for it i'd say
would def only give organic though

thanks all, good idea about starting her off on semi soft yolks.

pretty much all she gets is organice tbh, she eats better than me that's for sure!

I'm not much of an organic junkie but with eggs I think it makes a huge difference to the way they are kept, and therefore the condition of the eggs.

They way the chickens are kept, that is.
