Meat finger food ideas

I've got veggie, fish & chicken finger foods down to a fine art (all the usual things on toast, in sandwiches/pitta, fish cakes, chicken nuggets, pasta etc) but other than mini beef burgers am stumped for ideas how to offer red meat as finger food and my DS (1) isn't very good at just chewing great hunks of meat! Any ideas?

How old is DS? What other red meat do you want to offer? You could casserole the meat, but thats not really finger food. I would keep on the burgers and chicken until he is old enough to have casseroles.

Does it have to be finger food. cAN HE NOT JUST HAVE SPAG BOL AND COTTAGE PIE ETC?

How about little mini meatballs and pasta (penne)

Briasing steak?

He's just turned 1. I tend to give him a meal at lunchtime so he is getting red meat some days (mainly our leftovers inc. casseroles, moussaka, shepherd pie, spag bol etc) but he's beginning to resist being spoon fed but hasn't worked out feeding himself with a spoon hence wondering about some meaty finger food ideas.

My 14 month old has pies that I make with braising steak.

Or how about rost beef finely sliced and cut into little bits?

PS - sorry for hitting caps lock in my last post, I wasn't shouting at you honest!

Meat balls are a top idea - might make them for our supper tonight too! Thanks

Same age as mine then and she's been refusing to let me help feed her for ages. you could do a spag bol but use penne or fussili and he can feed that to himself.

Againa steak pie can be fed to himself, as could meatballs and pasta.

Mine's had mousakka last night and she tried to feed herself with a spoona nd I had another spoon and scooped some into her mouth while she tried getting some food on the spoon and she dodn't seem to mind that form of help as long as she felt in charge!

sheperds pie (lamb or beef)

spag bol (assuming you are giving tomtato, although you could just cook the mince & leave some aside if not)

beef sausages from the butcher (to minimise any nastie & additives)

beef stew - cooked really slowly all day with make for very tender stewing steak that he can suck on/gum

or if you can afford it some really nice tender steak

he's 1? doesn't matter he can't use a spoon very well himself. let him loose with 'normal' food, no need to make things mini versions of grown up food, or specially finger food. try him with normal spag bol. he'll have great fun with the spaghetti. wrap it into balls or nests IYSWIM, dollop some bolognaise on them, let him have a go.

Thanks for the great ideas & I think I just need to stop thinking 'baby food' and start putting whatever he'd normally have on his tray & see how he gets on.
