I shop in Waitrose. I think Ambrosia do one. It doesn't matter if it isn't organic, just avoid any additives.

Not sure about custard from the chilled section, I would check with your hv but probably okay.

fizzbuzz · 23/01/2007 21:29

All the normal tins have stuff added to them. What I really want are those little single serving Ambrosia things, but without any addatives.

Can't help, just tried the Ambrosia website and I think they must have pulled their organic custard. I was a long while ago that I bought it. You can def. get a chilled one. Next time I'm shopping I'll have a look.

In the meantime, why not make a baked custard? I've never made it on the hob either but baked have been okay. Or rice pudding, you can't go wrong with that.

Don't know how to make a baked custard. Intensely dislike cooking......how do you make it?

From what I remember it's much the same as a hob one but you chuck it in the oven. I'm off to bed soon but I'll try and get a minute to look up the recipe tomorrow. Try a google as well or post on here. In fact, why not start a thread for recipes for a reluctant milk drinker?

Do you not like rice pudding? I hate cooking too but that is soooooooo easy!

fizzbuzz · 23/01/2007 21:59

Yes she likes rice pudding, she already has that.

However have just made her a fruit crumble and it really needs custard to finish it off!

Now where did I see a recipe that had the custard in the crumble when you baked it?...

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 22:06

I just bought 4 little pots of custard for about £1 from tesco, above the frozen bit. will give some to dd (7mths) when dh eats one with his puds. I dont eat it, yuck!

I give her bread and butter (lurpack) lots. keep it covered, out offridge so easy to spread. It is expensive tho, the way we get thru it (dh adds tonnes to mashed potatoes, and always fries eggs in it tho I beg him not to...

she has yogurts, from frais, and my spongecake made wih butter, not really given her cream tho, but would do.
My MIL says to boil full fat milk before giving it to her, but I dont really see the point, I am still bf her between meals.

fizzbuzz · 23/01/2007 22:10

What's in them? Apart from custard obviously

if I made spongecake with butter, I would immediately eat it all, so can't even go there unfortunately

Do you make cheese sauce? That is my hv's top tip for a reluctant milk drinker.

I used to make dd1 grated apple and cream cheese sandwiches.
