Breakfast ideas for 7month old

My 7 month DS is eating well so far (teething aside!) but he's intolerant to oats (suffers with eczema so was warned allergies could occur) meaning porridge is out.
I give him Weetabix but started wondering if he's intolerant to wheat too as stratches and fusses. If thats the case it really only leaves me with baby rice & fruit pots. I like variety, not keen to give him a fruit pot for breakfast every day, it's not enough for starters - little man, big appetite!

Have tried scrambled egg a couple of times and, phew, seems ok on that other than he just doesn't like it.
I'd mash up cornflakes or rice crispies but they have salt & sugar so what alternatives can I give?

You can get sugar free rice cereals

We do millet or amaranth or puffed rice with fruit and coconut milk as she's CMPI.
Sweet potato toast with peanut butter
Vegetable muffins or waffles
Banana pancakes, we use spelt or buckwheat
Sometimes we serve the left overs from the night before
Scrambled eggs usually with vegetables
Normal toast with avocado
Today for breakfast we had a banana, carrot and apple loaf served with soya yoghurt and fruit.
We also do oats as well.

Toast? Mashed banana/avocado. Some babies prefer boiled eggs to scrambled.

dementedpixie - looked up sugar free rice cereal following your post and found some in Holland & Barrett so will give that a go.
mrswishywashy - fancy some of those suggests myself! Will give them a try ;-)
Ah yes, banana & avocado is a favourite!

Toast and Marmite.
Plain yoghurt (e.g. Greek yoghurt) and fruit puree.
Mashed banana on toast.
Peanut butter (smooth) on toast.
French toast / eggy bread.
Unsweetened fruit muffin.

You can get puffed wheat cereal (no added anything) from Morrison's and other supermarkets for £1.

MrsAukerman · 12/07/2016 21:58

Doh! That's wheat. Ignore me.

Rude Health do some cereals that are rice/spelt based, maybe worth a look? rudehealth.com/our-food-and-drink/#cereals

sophiaslullaby · 13/07/2016 09:11

Oh yes Rude Health, I like their cereals. Started this thread when DS was still only really eating mush but has come on a lot since then so lumpier (soft) cereals will be ok in a month or so. I'll take a look at what Rude Health do.

I tried again with scrambled egg, even getting him to pick it up and feed himself - he dramatically closed his eyed, threw head back and shuddered! Must just be the texture.
