not too sure if I should worry or not just yet.

have managed to get 3 spoonfuls of ready brek into J today, (and that was a struggle) all he seems to want is his milk. i've started weaning onto cows milk in the mornings only, it's not effecting his sleeping, or his other eating as he is eating the same amounts during the day as usual apart from that.

this has been going on for the last 3 days thou. my worry is he's not having brekkie, and also the cows milk - should I go back to the formual in the am instead as it's got more nutrience for him? he's a week shy of 11 months btw and have been doing cows milk 1 bottle for about a week now.

(he's sleeping still 7-7.30/8) at night so not worried form that aspect, and his weight is very good (75th centile)

Try not to worry hun, try him on something a little later.

What time is breakfast?

Jess went through a stage of not wanting to eat until she had been up a good hour or so.

Munz · 17/01/2007 09:05

normally about half hour after he wakes up. I normally do solids then milk, but he;s jsut been wanting the milk. he normally has a mid morning snack as well at 10.30-11 ish lunch at one but he's been hungry before the 1 and crying for lunch early - which i've been doing.

the girls have breakfast here at 7-7.30 (but they are up anywhere from 5am!

They have toast at 8.30-9am

Lunch at 12

Snack at 3ish

Tea at 4.30

Milk at 6

Munz · 17/01/2007 09:11

well we normlaly have brekkie around 8, snack 10.30-11, lunch 1 snack 3 tea 5 milk 6.45 & bed. it's been working really well and he's sleeping sooo much better than b4 I didn't want to rock the boat, I did think teeth - in fact this has been since sunday am. but it cna't be if he's eating his other foods - i'm offering fruit/veg etc. not all choccy/buscuits, etc.

he's now sitting here eating a slice of toast as a 'snack' i'm right in giving him that now arn't I? perhaps I should just do milk on waking for a while and toast later on, althou when we go out it's harder to do a substanial snack iycwim.

Munz, I'd stick with milk first thing and breakfast an hour or two later, and if you are out and about, a banana makes a portable and filling breakfast/snack.

Perhaps also first feed of the day isn't the best time to introduce changes, i.e. formula to cows milk?

Munz · 17/01/2007 15:24

do you think perhaps the cows milk should be in the afternoon then (he's still on 3 bottles p/d) the main reason I started a brekkie one was as if there was any adverse effects I wanted to have the whole day iycwim.

pehaps will try that tomorrow and see how things go?

thanks anyways for the advice, only thing giving him toast at 10 was he didn't want his lunch so today has had 1 slice of toast 1/3 of a banana a yoghurt water and 2 7oz bottles of milk. (not even half of what he'd normally eat)

well today's a turn around - mr independant! decided he won't eat when I feed him but will when he does it himself! lol. so in future he'll be doing all of his own feeding! lol. (I was only doing his brekkie anyhow) still least he ate something which i'm pleased about.
