DS is 15 months and drinks water and fruit juice from cups and beakers very happily (as has done from very early on)BUT has always absolutley refused milk (warm or cold) from any sort of beaker, spout, cup - you name it. I've tried so many now, I've practicaly road tested them all. I am at my wits end, as i've very acutely aware of the problem with teeth etc by giving him a bottle and it's really getting to me. grandparents are all telling me not to worry, but I'm feeling such a failure.

What to do now?

Let him have the bottle? If its only once/twice a day and drank then taken away i see no problem. My DD1 is 3.7 and still has her bottle of milk twice a day.

Actually, I agree with the grandparents. It's not worth worrying about yet.

As long as you're not giving him juice in a bottle you should be OK - and you can always give his teeth a brush after he's had his milk.

Try him again in a few weeks time, they change so quickly at that age that he may well be ready to drop the bottle by then.

My ds was exactly the same and wouldn't have voluntarily given up his bottles. I just decided to go cold turkey at 16 months and replaced his mid morning and mid afternoon bottles with water and a snack. I made sure he got plenty of dairy eg in his cereal, cheese as a snack, yogurt for pudding. I offered a beaker of milk before his breakfast and with his bedtime books. He quickly adapted and started to drink about 1/2 beaker with breakfast and full beaker at bedtime.

Thank you. Here's hoping. I'll give the 'cold turkey' a try and grit my teeth... Any other methods, please suggest!
