DS had 3 weetabixs, 2 bananas and was still looking for more this morning... should I have given him more? Should I have only given him the origional 1 banana & 2 weetabix?

oh sorry didn't realise you were doing BLW, I have no clue about that

natural yoghurt would be fine, if he's allowed a spoon you could just let him make a mess

I have no idea about fibre, sorry

whensantagotstuckupAITCHimney · 10/12/2006 17:26

natural yoghurt. i buy the big tubs, eat some, forget about them and then post messages saying 'how long do big tubs of yoghurt last?'

Quootiepie · 10/12/2006 17:26

natural yogurt.... is that the odd tasting stuff?

TinsellyRhino · 10/12/2006 17:29

lol well yes some people think its odd, I love it
your ds might like it too

DizzyBinterWonderland · 10/12/2006 17:32

you can add stuff to the plain yoghurt if you like. pureed fruit makes it taste like 'normal' yoghurt and sweetens it up. but good idea to see if he'll take it as it is first.

Quootiepie · 10/12/2006 17:33

He'll probably like it... I cant stand it. Ive never bought any before - what do I buy? Ive seen something Valley - is that the stuff?

DizzyBinterWonderland · 10/12/2006 17:34

rachel's organic is quite popular. but yes there is yeo valley also.

Quootiepie · 10/12/2006 17:35

just steer clear of those special baby style yoghurts with cartoons and other bobbins on the packets. really no point in them. rachel's now do a line in baby yoghurts, but again, really no point.

I give my lo's plain greek yogurt and they love it, you can mix whatever fruit you have into it if you want.

BahHunkBug · 10/12/2006 17:43

Give plain yog first though - watching their faces is a hoot when they taste it. Both mine love it though - DS1 still prefers it over flavoured yog.

CorrieDale · 10/12/2006 17:48

DS loves plain greek yogurt too. Why not chop the banana up into biggish pieces and stir it into the yogurt? He can then feed himself using the banana as spoons.

I think HM has a good point re: the weetabix. Babies can't really cope with a lot of fibre - it kind of rushes through their system, and can strip it of nutrients en route. So no all bran or bran flakes until they're at least 2. Why not try him with some toast - it's wholemeal but takes a bit longer to eat. DS adored crumpets from a very early age - probably all that yummy refined flour, lol! Fruit btw is fine - the fibre isn't quite so fibrous, ifkwim!

Quootiepie · 10/12/2006 17:50

he has toast some days aswell... Ill try yogurt with banana spoons
