How much does your 6/7month old eat?

Hi, my DD is 6.5 months and has just gone up to three meals a day.

I have no idea how much I SHOULD be feeding her, so just take her lead. She's bf and typically takes 5 feeds during the day and 2 during the night.

A typical day may consist of this:

BF

Breakfast - 1/2 weetabix with blue milk and fruit purée, or equivalent in ready brek or porridge

BF

Lunch - 2 x 1oz freezer pots of avocado/butternut squash/sweet potato etc. alternatively I'll give her a slice of toast/veg fingers/fruit to eat away at

BF

BF

Dinner - 1/2 pouch of Ella's kitchen 7month+ or equivalent in home made dinner

BF before bed.

How does that compare to babies of a similar age?

TIA

Thanks. Yes she is back on food now.

That advice makes sense and i will try it next time she gers fussy. I also thought if they refuse solids, just give an extra milk feed and try the next day (I read it was the usual advice) but my hv said no extra milk. And then told me to keep her full and hydrated. Hmm

She ate a bowl of porridge, potato and cauliflower stew with cheese, baby puffs from Boots as a snack and avocado squashed onto oatcakes for dinner. Grin

Don't always listen to a health visitor ... You are your babies mother and know her like no other so use your instincts if she doesn't want food then a few extra ounces of milk won't hurt. Food should be fun before they are 1.

Glad she has her appetite back squizita :)

We are doing a lot better too - her bowels seem to have sorted themselves out and she's enthusiastic about her food again Smile
