Help! 11 month old hardly eats.

Does anybody have any advice please. My 11 month old daughter won't eat her food. She is drinking about 3 7oz bottles of milk a day, but when it comes to her food, she eats about 3 or 4 spoonfuls and then starts pulling it out of her mouth with her hands. I don't know what to do to get her to eat. I've tried varying the times between meals, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. She has only just got her first tooth, so don't know whether that makes any difference. She is still gaining weight, but only small amounts.

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

have you tried not spoonfeeding her? has she had a go with finger foods? try just giving her soft veg in chip shapes, she may prefer to feed herself. have a look at the BLW threads for ideas.

Hi

Thanks for the advice. I have tried giving her finger foods to eat, but she just seems to put them into her mouth and then pushes them back out with her tongue. She is teething at the moment and the past couple of days has had very watery poos so I'm hoping that things will improve shortly.

The health visitor says that DD is fine and she is gaining weight, so I guess I should try and chill out about it a bit more.

I will have a look at the BLW threads as you suggested.

many thanks

lloydie i assume you are feeding her before her bottle?

I think teething pain may make her reluctant to eat. My ds didn't eat very much at all that age. Eating together as often as possible, and perhaps sitting her on your knee and letting her help herself to your plate might encourge her. But if she seems happy and healthy try not to stress about mealtimes - she will eat more when she is ready
