We're 2 days into blw with DD2 and it's great fun but very messy! What full body armour bibs would you most recommend and is there any other kit that might be helpful? We did mixed weaning with DD1 but had a dog then who was very helpful for cleaning up and we did some spoon feeding. This time DD2 is in charge!

Id recommend tge IKEA highchair - all plastic, so easy to clean and under £15.

We also used plastic mats (really large thin ones) from Poundland - Id use one for a full week then bin it (picked up mess inbetween but they got stained etc).

I used ASDAs plastic picnic cutlery rather than specific baby spoons as the handles are curved to easy to pick up.

My favourite bib is one I got from Amazon, it's a green frog one and the end of the sleeves are elasticated which helps stop their clothes getting dirty. I've found all bibs are massive when they are 6 months though. The collar often gapes so I put a snug fitting normal bib underneath.

For the floor I use a double bed sheet- can be spread wide enough to catch far flung food, easy to scoop up and shake into the bin and then you can just shove it in the washing machine.

I have the Ikea high chair, it's great, some other great ideas here, thanks.

I find the full body bobs way too big at 6 months. I usually go for big muslins pegged closed, adult tshirts (you can hook them over their feet too fir top to toe coverage!) or tea towels. Just keep a clothes peg handy and you're sorted.

Think we may be ok with the bibs as she's the size of an 8-9 month old! Have just ordered two frog ones.

Bibetta bibs are awesome. And a tea towel over the lap for really messy food.

I have some sleeved bibs from Sainsbury's and Morrisons, the arms are soft cloth but the body bit is backed with plastic, and they are snug on the wrists. DS couldn't move his arms well in the plastic sleeves bibs and would become too entranced with making the crinkly sound to eat... I have a floor mat from JoJo which will be also used for garden and picnics, but a cheaper one would have done, my mam bought it :) I just shake it outside when done. I find clean up is easiest with a damp muslin all over face and hands then chuck in the wash.
