If you'd told me four months ago that DS (11 months) would be eating as much as he is now I wouldn't have believed you.

I spent at least the first three months of DS eating solids wondering if he was ever actually going to eat anything at all but now...

..well now he eats what I eat for every meal. So we've had pizza, risotto, lasagne, fricase, pie and roast dinners to name but a few. It's just such a great way of doing things

So for all of you just starting out - it does get easier and it really is worth it

Well done your DS! Sounds a remarkably similar storty to mine. I started my dd with conventional pureed food at the age of 5 months, and two months later she was still refusing to take a spoon. The doctor started to worry me that she wasn't getting enough vitamins (although I'm still bf). Fortunately someone suggested I try her with finger foods, and that worked better then puree, and since the age of 11 months, she's been eating really well! She eats the healthy version of everything I eat, she can even use a fork .

Oh, and thank you to all who have 'been before' and got me started on blw - I couldn't have done it without you!

Cor, belgo, a fork, that's impressive! I haven't been brave enough to try cutlery yet

Pigeon pie - I wasn't brave enough to start curtlery either - but she just grabs everything from the table and does it without me realising. She has gone from being way behind with weaning to suddenly being far ahead.

fantastic! that gives me hope! although i must admit my dd is eating more and more every day. i did despair in the beginning, especially when all my friends were spooning puréed roasts with 3 veg for 5 people etc.

that is promising for the future, belgo... a fork. i can't imagine that at the moment. i'd really appreciate it is every so often you would have a peek at my blog here and try to keep me straight with advice if you have any... only if you'd like to though. cheers, h
