Weaning problems

Little one is 6 months old now, we have been giving her off the shelf rice/porridge and rusks for 2 months now. She has been fine eating this stuff, no major problems. The odd bit of vomit but nothing unusual.

At the 6 month mark (10 days ago) we started giving her bits of toast, adult porridge (full fat cows milk), mashed veg, mashed potatoes, weetabix, cheese spread sandwiches etc, along with her milk. She also has petits filous yoghurts. She will happily grab her food and put it in her mouth (after mashing it in her hands of course). She loves her veggies.

However, we have had problems with her keeping things down. She loves eating the things we give her, but cannot keep them down! Over the course of the afternoon, most of her lunch will have gone! We can get through 4-5 bibs in an afternoon! Sometimes the sick is thick and bitty, sometimes it is runny and watery. It doesn't seem to matter what we feed her. Afternoon seems the worst time.

One theory I have is that we are now giving her too much milk - she is still drinking 7oz at breakfast, lunch, tea and bedtime (sometimes will go to bed without). This is roughly what she was drinking before we started weaning her (4-6 months). But if she is now eating more actual food, should this volume have gone down? She is happily drinking it, but should we stop her?

Other than the above problem, she is filling nappies fine and seems her normal happy self. As I type she is trying her best to start crawling.

Does anyone have any ideas? We have also had problems getting her to drink from a sippy cup. Could this be related?

Thanks
Steve and Danielle, on behalf of Sophie!

I would say it's just her system getting used to new experiences. If she's happy and hitting milestones etc. Obviously if you're worried then seek advice. I wouldn't cut down milk yet as that's definitely still herher main source of nutrition, especially if she's puking up her solids! Unless it's immediate projectile vomiting after eating then I wouldn't worry.

Thanks Misty9. It is extremely disheartening and frustrating when we're cleaning up (smelly) vomit every 5 minutes - the frequency is obviously increased when she's laid on her belly starting to crawl, but this afternoon we were at a garden centre in the fresh air, she was strapped into the pram (not too tight) sat up and still the sick kept coming. She'd had mashed potato with cheese for lunch so it smelled quite bad.
