What to put in sandwiches?

DD3 is 8 months old now and loves her food. I've given her some bread and butter and she loves it, but now I'm trying to think what could I give her in her "sandwich"? We don't eat red or white meat, and veggie "ham" is unsuitable for her for a long while yet. Cheese is the only other option I can come up with (which I'm sure she'll eat). But any other ideas?

banana
houmous

on their own on combsos of:
cream cheese
marmite
cheddar
avocado
egg, boiled & sliced or mayo
tuna, with s.corn or red pepper or cucumber and/or with mayo
jam, strwaberry or apricot
maralade (ggod enough for paddington!)

Grated carrots
bean sprouts
(along with all other suggestions - actually both these are good in a sarnie with humous)

ohhh thank you for reminding me of grated carrot.
Wonderful, will do that tomorrow for DD1.

Is she too young for peanut butter? Always a favoutire with my dd (especially with jam as well!)

Sorry, "favourite"....

tuna is very popular here

with salad cream, or mayo, or on its own with grated carrot (which is a good binder)

grated carrot mixed with hummous and some sultanas is very delicious, Thomcat. probably not for bubs, though, what with that whole choking thing and all.

OOOh, ladies, some of these sound delish - I'll be having them, never mind dd3! DD1&2 love tuna mayo, but for some reason I thought dd3 was too young to have that too [she's too young for peanut butter - I didn't give it to the other 2 until they were about 18months/2years I think - but when she's old enough ...]. I'll give them a try - thanks for all the lovely suggestions!
