My DD is coming up to 10 months and has been weaning for almost 4 months. She has 3 meals a day and I now also try to give her a snack or two throughout the day too.

I of course acknowledge that every baby is different but just worry at times that she's not getting enough or that I maybe offer her too much so would be grateful for your thoughts.

For breakfast she mostly has the Aptamil creamy porrige and I tend to mash a few big chunks of banana into it, or I will chop some dried apricots, steam/boil them, blitz them and add that to the porrige.

Lunchtime tends to be her 'main' meal (i.e. she will have a proper meal), which is generally always home cooked meals (I tend to use Annabel Karmel recipes). A 'portion' for her will be around 2-3 tablespoons, sometimes she will have most of it, other times maybe only half a dozen baby spoonfuls.

Dinner I try to do BLW things so I might give her eggy bread toast fingers, Dairylea toast fingers (both of which she generally only manages 2 fingers maximum). I might also do sweet mash and put a bit of cheddar or Dairylea in it. Sometimes I'll give her some veg and humus. Sometimes I will give her another home cooked meal that's been frozen.

After lunch and dinner she has 'pudding' which is generally an Ella's Kitchen fromage frais - which she LOVES!

Recently I have intorduced rice cakes which she seems to like, and also rusks (which I never thought I'd bother with but they seem to go down well).

She's not that fussed when it comes to pieces of fruit. I will put a slice of mango or cantaloupe melon in front of her for example and she just plays with it! She's more likely to take it if its pureed.

I guess what I feel unconfident with is a) her portion size; b) when to give her things like grapes/raisens/blueberries etc - they are soooo small they worry me!; and c) when should she drop a milk feed? She has 4 milk feeds a day, 6oz each one, although mostly she has a bit less than that.

Thank you

I really wouldn't worry Smile

a) as long as you are feeding to her appetite then that is absolutely fine. Eg if spoonfeeding, stopping when she shows signs of being full (turning head away, shutting mouth etc). Trust that she'll eat as much or as little as she needs.

b) there's nothing stopping you giving them now! Cut grapes lengthways, squash blueberries a little or cut them lengthways as well. Raisins are fine, although not great for teeth so I don't give them often.

c) you'll probably find that as food volume increases and as you give snacks regularly, that milk feeds will naturally drop. I wouldn't try and force it. Also when she starts to cruise and maybe walk, there are usually too many distractions! So milk feeds become a little less interesting.
