Doidy cup

Has anybody had any success teaching a baby around 8-9 months to use one? I have just ordered one as a last resort.

My baby will not take to a sippy cup, I have tried a whole range of brands, different styles, non spill, free flow etc but she can't get the hang of it. She has been bottle fed from birth with no issues.

In addition, has anybody got any advice on how to teach her to take a sippy cup?
Thanks

I'd wait and try the doidy cup - the novelty of it may appeal to her!

She may (probably will) play around with it, at least at first, so maybe just a little bit of water at a time. I keep a glass of water on the table and just top up the doidy cup if needed.

My DS loves to wiggle his fingers in the water, or dip bits of food in. It's normally a sign that he's not thirsty anymore, but I don't mind him exploring / playing with his food a bit.

My two both used the doidy. Just don't put too much in it, particularly to start with so that when your DD tips it over herself it wont go toooo far!

We found it much easier to use and you don't get food jammed in those sippy cup tops.

If the doidy doesn't work, try a straw cup (lots of types, but we really like this Momma one).

Straw cups don't need to be tipped up, unlike sippy cups, and my ds took to it instantly at 7 months. Plus drinking from a straw is a lifelong activity anyway, so it's not as though the skill will go to waste Smile
