Hello

Question for y'all!
How long can I freeze pureed veg for as my LO isn't too far off being ready for weaning (according to HV anyway) and I'm always far too keen and prepared. Also have some organic vag to use up before it goes off and thought it would be a good thing to use it for instead of it rotting!

Also what veggies are best to start with?
Cheers

i think my anabel karmel (sp?)book suggests a month for veg purees.

We started with carrot, sweet potatoe, parsnip, swede, nice sweet tasting root veggies then went on to mixtures. Not sure about freezing but I did 8 weeks and DD was fine!

Thanks, when did you start?

8 weeks if not milk, 6 if puree contains milk.

We started when she was 20 weeks, we had been on holiday and she kept trying to grab the foof that the older babies were having,

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/09/2006 14:59

I thought 3 months, but goodness knows how we find out which of us is right!!!

We also did parsnips, carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash as early veg, and pear as early fruit, which is still her favourite.

I had read 4 weeks somewhere, but can't remember where. We have started on pear, carrot & apple all of which he loves.

Hello!

To all mothers, what do you look for or what motivates you to buy particular branded baby foods? What makes you feel the product is right?

I have just had a new born baby, and i am definately worried with the foods on the market and what will be good for my baby. They say organic foods are the best, but their are so many brands like Hienz, Plum Baby, Cow Gate i am not sure which one will be good for my baby!

I need a little help i am really worried! What should i go for: Oraganic food? frozen baby meals?
Any help from people would be appreciated

You might want to start your own post on this as its different from the original topic so you would probably get more response.

For me, I am trying to do most of it myself, for emergencies I have bought in some plum baby & organix stuff as it seems to have less additives in it than the others.

Frankly I'm not sure that a lot of the organic ranges are any better than the normal stuff as its just the same old additives but somehow using organic veg is going to make that all right.

8 weeks, I think.

Re. the question about what food, sons, I would say if you are worried about it, the best thing is to make your own from organically grown veggies and freeze in ice cube trays. That way you can see exactly what goes into it because you did it yourself.
