Daft question alert! What yogurt is best for babies?

When the nurse saw us and gave us the info about weaning she was great and have us loads of info. During which she mentioned yogurt is great for babies but watch out for the sugars as, for example, there's a lot in things like petit fillos and munch bunch. I bought natural yogurt thinking I would sweeten it with strawberries but it was still too sour, I now have a pot on onken, mango, papaya and passionfruit which she LOVED but tastes really sweet to me.

Any suggestions on what is a good choice for her? I've seen the plum ones but would like to avoid paying £2 for 6 tiny pots!

I used full fat Greek yogurt. It only seems to cone in big tubs if I wasn't going to use it all up before it went off I would freeze it in an ice cube tray and then just pop a few ice cubes in a tub in the fridge in the morning for baby to have with lunch)dinner or just zap it very briefly in the microwave.

I fucking love full fat Greek yoghurt. It's absolutely delicious and I can eat tonnes of the stuff. I therefore don't think it's mean to give it to my DS, and he is a bloody good eater too. It's not just stale bread and water at our house Wink

I like natural yoghurt so I gave that to mine when weaning.

They eat that or the big pots of full fat flavoured yoghurts like Onken or Yeo Valley. Cheaper than buying individual pots and I find them nicer.

The easi-yo yoghurt maker is brilliant for making full fat Greek yoghurt. It's really simple and the jars last for 2 weeks, so they tend to lead to less waste as you can portion out what you know your baby will eat and the leftovers don't go off as quickly as a bought tub.

I used to think that once a yoghurt had been opened, it would have to be eaten within 24-48hrs or it would go off, but read on here it's actually fine for about a week.

I love the individual pots of full fat Greek yogurt from Lidl, sooo thick and creamy and not at all sour.

Don't see how that is depriving my 7mo Hmm He's got a lifetime to consume processed food and refined sugar. My ds1 (3.7) is a fantastic eater and will try anything.

It's all about variety imo.

DD has full fat Yeo Valley natural yoghurt. We either mix in fresh fruit or give it to her plain - she loves it either way.

another vote for Greek yogurt. ds1 had the naughty ones and I vowed not to make the sane mistake with ds2. got some fruit puree stuff from the heath shop and add a teeny bit but they would have without mixed with blueberries etc.

for the three year old he would actually enjoy the whole ritual oddibg diff fruit etc!

Greek yoghurt is yummmmy and not at all boring! I agree it's not just about tooth decay etc, it's not getting them used to really sweet things
