Dried apricot and....?

I want to boil some dried apricots with something else to make some purée, but what?
Any ideas?
This is for a 6 month old's lunch / snack time.

Chicken - this one www.babycentre.co.uk/a1025131/annabel-karmels-favourite-chicken-puree was a huge hit in our house (can't imagine why, I thought it tasted like overripe fruit with, well, chicken mixed in)

I used to puree cooked dried apricot with tofu for my DS. He was on soya milk, so both the above had calcium.
He's now 16 and past 6' - so it must have worked!

At the beginning you can just about do any veg - if you want to go down the purée route at all and not be lazy and smug like I do now and go for BLW Wink

That said, I wouldn't recommend doing it with the dried apricot as you'll be giving your DC masses of sugar that they don't really need (because of how the drying process concentrates it, not because there's anything wrong with apricots!). Could you try some straight fruit, like stewing some pear or apple, or a roasted sweet-ish root veg like sweet potato or pumpkin? Mine would basically eat anything mixed with stewed apple, from parsnip to broccoli!

My Ds loved dried apricots pureed and mixed in porridge. I used the organic ones as they didn't have sulphates (?) in them.

Oo the chicken and the porridge sound like a great ideas! I doubt I can get tofu, and I know I can't get fresh apricots where I am in rural Norway (staying with family for a month or two), thank God for the EU back in the UK where we are spoilt for choice in the supermarkets!
